Custom Apparel Sample Development in China
Many production problems begin before the first bulk order — incomplete tech packs, unclear measurements, unsuitable fabrics, and unconfirmed logo details all lead to costly revisions, delays, or inconsistent finished goods. ClothReady helps brands turn a concept, tech pack, or reference garment into a production-ready sample.
The goal of the sample stage isn't just to make one piece — it's to identify and resolve product risks before you commit to a 50-piece (or larger) bulk order. We work from whatever you have: a complete tech pack, a rough sketch, reference images, or a physical reference garment.

Our Process for Small Brands
We have simplified manufacturing so small and growing brands can work with us as easily as large ones.
Project Intake
Send your tech pack, reference images, target quantity, and target market. We review what you have and flag what's missing.
Feasibility Review
We identify production risks and missing specifications before any material is ordered — this is where ambiguity gets resolved, not after fabric is cut.
Material Sourcing
We discuss available fabric and trim options suited to your design, use case, and budget, and send swatches before sampling starts.
Sample Development
We produce your first sample — typically 7–15 business days — based on the approved specifications.
Fit & Construction Review
You review the physical sample and send back comments and revision requests; we resample as needed, typically 1–2 rounds.
PP Sample & Bulk Handover
Once you approve a pre-production (PP) sample, we lock the bill of materials, measurements, artwork, labels, and packing details for bulk production.
Why Brands Choose ClothReady
Catches Problems Before Bulk, Not After
A fit or fabric problem caught on 1 sample piece costs far less to fix than the same problem discovered across a 50+ piece bulk order.
Works Without a Formal Tech Pack
A sketch, reference garment, or even a competitor product photo plus your changes is enough to start — we build the working spec sheet as part of this process.
Sample Cost Credited to Your Bulk Order
You're not paying twice — sample cost is credited back once you proceed to a bulk order over 300 pieces per style per single order.
Same Team From Sample to Bulk
The same spec, fabric sourcing, and pattern developed during sampling carries directly into your bulk production run — no re-briefing a new team.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a custom apparel sample take?
A standard sample commonly takes 7–15 business days after specifications and materials are confirmed. Complex styles, special fabrics, or custom trims may require more time.
Can you work from just a sketch?
Yes — a sketch can be a starting point, but our team will typically need to confirm additional specifications with you before the product is ready for bulk production.
Is the sample fee refundable?
Sample cost is $50–$200 per piece and is credited back for bulk orders over 300 pieces per style per single order — confirm the exact figure for your specific style with our team.
What should I send to start sample development?
A tech pack if available, or a product sketch/reference images/reference garment photos, plus your size chart or grading rules, fabric direction, logo artwork, and target quantity and launch date.
